司美格鲁肽（Semaglutide）是一种胰高血糖素样肽（GLP-1）类似物，GLP-1是由人体胃肠道黏膜分泌出的一种“肠促胰素”，通过刺激胰岛素分泌和降低胰高血糖素分泌的机制降低血糖。

恒敬利用大肠杆菌菌株发酵生产的半合成司美格鲁肽，与人类的 GLP-1 具有 94% 的序列同源性，内毒素含量极低且不含任何动物源性的病原体。

Semaglutide is an analog of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which is a hormone secreted by the mucous membrane of the human gastrointestinal tract known as an "enteroendocrine hormone". It lowers blood sugar levels by stimulating insulin secretion and reducing glucagon secretion.

Virtu Pharmako utilizes E. coli strains to produce semi-synthetic semaglutide, which shares 94% sequence homology with human GLP-1. It has extremely low endotoxin content and does not contain any animal-derived pathogens.
